O rings are used to close off any openings through which a gas or liquid could otherwise escape. Secured by being put into a groove and compressed between two surfaces. When the system is under pressure, the o ring is pushed against the opposite wall of the groove, guaranteeing a perfect seal even at extremely high or low pressures. They can function at high temperatures and are resistant to chemicals.
